Our standards

We teach. We never do the work for you.

Lantern+ exists to help students learn and grow in confidence. That only works if the work you hand in is truly yours.

Academic integrity

In England it is a criminal offence to provide, or advertise, services that complete assessed work for students (the Skills and Post-16 Education Act 2022). Lantern+ is designed to stay clearly on the right side of that line, and we hold the same standard for students everywhere in the UK.

  • Tutors may: explain concepts, work through similar practice problems, teach methods and skills, help you plan and structure your own thinking, and give feedback on your understanding.
  • Tutors may not: write, complete, rewrite or edit any part of an assessed assignment, dissertation, exam or test, or take part in any assessment on your behalf.
  • Our AI study buddy is built to ask questions and check understanding. It will not produce assessed work.
  • Requests to complete assessed work are declined and recorded. Repeated requests lead to account suspension.
  • You can share an assessment brief so your tutor understands the context. Your tutor will then teach the underlying skills, not answer the brief.

Tutor verification

  • Every tutor's identity and qualifications are checked before they can teach.
  • Tutors complete a demo lesson and our integrity and safeguarding training, with an annual refresher.
  • Where available in a tutor's country, we may request a criminal-record check.
  • Ratings, reviews and session quality are monitored continuously.

Safeguarding and wellbeing

  • All sessions happen inside the Lantern+ classroom. Contact details aren't shared, and off-platform contact isn't permitted.
  • Sessions are recorded for the student's benefit and kept securely for a limited time, so that concerns can be investigated.
  • Any student or tutor can report a concern from inside a session, and it will be reviewed by our safeguarding lead.
  • Our platform is for students aged 18 and over in higher and further education.
  • If you're struggling, we'll always point you to your university's support services and 24/7 helplines. Lantern+ tutors are not counsellors.

Accessibility

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 AA across the website and classroom, with live captions, adjustable pace and tutors trained in inclusive teaching.
